GIAN: Information Session - 1 December 2005
An information session, open to the public, will be held at the headquarters of the Geneva International Academic Network (GIAN) on Thursday, 1 December 2005, from 6:00 to 6:45 pm , followed by a light reception.

The goal will be to present the annual "Call for Projects" and the "Small Grants" programme to persons potentially interested in collaborating with the GIAN (representatives of international organisations, academic institutions and NGOs, among others).
A minimum funding package of SFr 1.6 million will be available in 2006 for projects of a maximum duration of one year, approved within this programme. A maximum of SFr 300,000 is allotted per project.
GIAN support may be requested for research projects that fall within the purview of at least one, or more, of the following thematic areas:
• Sustainable development;
• Social equity;
• Globalisation and international trade;
• Intercultural relations and dialogue;
• Humanitarian law and human rights.
Within these areas, the GIAN encourages projects concerning conflicts and security, environmental issues and humanitarian action.
