Funding Possibilities

Between 2001 and 2006, the GIAN conducted six annual tendering procedures which led to the approval of 43 projects. Due to changes currently being undertaken within Geneva's system of higher education in the realm of international studies, no tendering procedure will be held in 2007.

The "Small Grants" Programme, the GIAN's other instrument for the funding of academic research and activities, remains available.

The "Small Grants" Programme

The "Small Grants" programme allows the Geneva International Academic Network (GIAN) to respond quickly to immediate needs and to seize opportunities that may occur. The contribution by the GIAN to projects submitted in the framework of the "Small Grants" programme is a maximum of SFr 50,000 per project. As the effectiveness of such projects may depend upon timely implementation, an accelerated decision-making mechanism has been established. In general, a decision concerning a "Small Grant" will be communicated to applicants within three to four weeks after reception by the GIAN of the proposal and all required documents.

Due to changes currently being undertaken within Geneva's system of higher education in the realm of international studies, all "Small Grant" projects must be completed by 31 December 2007.

Requests for new "Small Grant" projects must therefore be made before the 30 June 2007 .

The > "Small Grants" programme procedure [pdf,  26kb] contains most of the information required for submitting a proposal. More specific information can be found through the links below. All the relevant documents, such as the cover sheet, a standard budget, etc., may be downloaded.
